Rihanna had a falling-out with her father in 2008. Ronald Fenty has had his battles with drugs and booze, and when he turned up drunk and trashed her tour bus, she severed contact. Then he made her even madder by sounding off when reporters came sniffing around in '09 asking about the Chris Brown business.
But the singer seems to have patched things up with him over the Christmas holidays, back home in Barbados. Ronald, who says he's sober now, wasted no time telling reporters about it: "I saw her twice before Christmas and she came to see me on Christmas Day. She showered me with gifts, a lot of stuff, many shirts and cologne. She's always really generous. ... We are blood, we do not stay angry and we are friends again."
He's 57; she's 22.

Also in a family way: Victoria Beckham. Just last spring she was saying three kids would be enough, but now she and her soccer-player hubby, David, have confirmed a fourth one is due "in the summer."
The other kids are Brooklyn, 11; Romeo, 8; and Cruz, 5.

Jake Gyllenhaal, who used to date Natalie Portman, had some kind words for her -plus a little teasing - at some awards thing in Palm Springs the other night, says People mag.
"Natalie is the Audrey Hepburn of our generation," Jake said. "Elegant, graceful, has amazing eyebrows ... is talented, really short, funny, smart, dedicated, incredibly kind."
With her fiance, Benjamin Millepied, beaming in the audience, Jake went on this way: "She's a vegan, which makes it really frustrating when you're picking a place to eat. She also recently announced that she's going to be a mom, and her child will probably need therapy after seeing Black Swan."

If you liked Eminem's 2002 movie 8 Mile -and who didn't? -you'll be pleased to know he's got another one coming.
New York mag says he'll star in a crime thriller -no rapping, apparently -for 20th Century-Fox. Random Acts of Violence, as this thing will be called, will give us the Detroit performer as "an ex-con smarter than his past, fresh out of prison and trying to stay legit," says the mag.
(His album Recovery, released last June, is reportedly the bestselling CD of 2010.)
It's a boy for actor Orlando Bloom and model Miranda Kerr, born late last week in L.A. No name yet.
He's 33; she's 27.
There will not be a second season of the reality series Sarah Palin's Alaska. This announcement, after the first-season finale Sunday, sparked the usual speculation that she will be running for president, but after a strong start, the ratings for the show were pretty mediocre.
