We've just learned Jessica Alba will not face charges for defacing Oklahoma City with shark posters earlier this month.
Oklahoma City Police just told us the investigation is closed because no one wanted to prosecute.
Alba was under fire last week after pictures surfaced of her gluing large posters of great white sharks all over OKC, in an effort to raise awareness for the dwindling number of the majestic creature.
One of Alba's victims was a billboard for the United Way, for which she later released an apology.
They're calling it a donation ... we're calling it payback -- either way, Jessica Alba just forked over a whole lotta cash to the United Way in the hopes of making everybody forget the night she vandalized the charity's billboard with shark posters.
Moments ago, a rep for the United Way of Central Oklahoma announced Alba made a donation of more than $500 -- but refused to identify the exact amount per Alba's wishes.
As you may recall, Alba went on a late night tear last week, defacing all sorts of objects with posters promoting great white shark awareness .... in Oklahoma ... where there is no ocean.
Jessica Alba has made a charity donation to apologise for putting up shark conservation posters. The Hollywood beauty – who was criticised last week when photographs emerged of her posing in front of buildings covered in giant images of the killer fish – has written a cheque for the United Way of Central Oklahoma charity. Erin Brewer, from the community organisation, said: “We’re very pleased she made a contribution. The money will go toward various good works around Oklahoma City.” Photographs of the 28-year-old actress smiling and holding a pot of glue in front of a defaced bridge, electricity box and advertising billboards appeared online last week.
The actress Jessica Alba is reportedly set to reunite with her 'Sin City' director Robert Rodriguez on the forthcoming 'Insiders' movie, which is an adaptation of a popular French spy comic book series.
The popular animated action series - which sells tens of thousands of copies to its French readers - has completed seven volumes with an eighth book due for release in October, but it has not been made clear which aspects of the graphic novels will be used in the film.
At the moment no proposed start-dates or further casting details are available for the blockbuster.
However, Rodriguez will be kept busy working on a host of upcoming projects - including 'The Jetsons', 'Red Sonja' and 'Sin City 2' - for the foreseeable future.
California - Jessica Alba spent her gloomy Saturday June 20, 2009 with her little family in Beverly Hills, California. Jessica grabbed a bite with husband Cash Warren and daughter Honor Marie Warren on Sunset before heading over to the magazine stand to catch up on the latest gossip.
In related news, after "vandalizing" the shark posters around downtown Oklahoma City, Jessica gives back by donating to the nonprofit organization. Alba, whose has been in in the said city for the past several weeks filming the movie "The Killer Inside Me," escaped from charges after the owners of the property she damaged, including the United Way and the city of Oklahoma City, declined to press charges.
Jessica Alba & Robert Rodriguez Adapting French Comic ‘The Insiders’ To Film?
0 comments Posted by MENDEM at 6:35 AMIs it not enough that Jessica Alba has already played iconic comic book characters in “Fantastic Four” and “Sin City“? Apparently not, as rumors swirl today about her involvement with yet another paneled page property.
ICv2 is reporting that Alba has acquired the screen rights to a French comic book series titled “The Insiders.” The news originated from “various French language Websites,” which also pegs Alba’s “Sin City” director Robert Rodriguez as her partner in securing the comic’s film rights.
“The Insiders” first debuted in 2002 from Jean-Claude Bartoll and Renaud Garreta, yielding seven volumes of the series in France with an eighth scheduled for this October. In the same month, Americans will also see the first volume of “The Insiders” titled Chechen Guerilla — perhaps a move to familiarize stateside audiences with Alba’s upcoming character.
Should the rumors pan out, Alba would play Najah Cruz, a Columbian woman with “the weapons expertise and combat skills of a James Bond.” In the series, Cruz is tasked with infiltrating a crime syndicate on behalf of the United States government, where she ultimately works her way into becoming the lead criminal’s body guard.
Given the long delays in “Sin City 2” and reports that a “Fantastic Four” reboot is in the works sans the original cast, Alba could be without a comic book franchise to call her own — which is why turning to “The Insiders” could be a strong move for an actress looking to stick with the genre.
On top of that, Alba’s first high-profile gig came in the form of “Dark Angel,” a James Cameron-produced television series where she played a hard-as-nails soldier of the same ilk as Najah Cruz. Truly, starring in “The Insiders” would be a return to form for the young actress.
