POP siren Rihanna has confessed that she is “a bit masochistic” in the bedroom and likes to be tied up, spanked and whipped.

The 23-year-old beauty, who had a hit single S&M, revealed: “I love feeling like I’m somebody’s girl.

“I love to be tied up and spanked. I like to be whipped. And it’s funny that I care, but I prefer to be spontaneous.

“Using whips and chains is too planned – you have to stop and look for the whip. I prefer them to use their hands.”

The star, who has been linked to actor Colin Farrell, told Rolling Stone magazine that her sexual preferences could be linked to her difficult upbringing.

“I think I’m a bit masochistic, and I did not realise until recently.

“I think that is common in people who witnessed abuse in their childhood,” said Rihanna, who saw her dad smoking crack when she was just nine years old.

Rihanna has filmed a commercial to promote UNICEF’s Tap Project, a campaign urging restaurant owners to charge $1 for tap water.

The organisation intends to use the proceeds to fund clean drinking water around the world.

Fans who donate to the cause go into the running to win a bottle of water filled from a tap in Riri’s house!

UNICEF’s light-hearted advertisement finds the superstar drinking a glass of H20, while a voiceover says “water so hot it could only come from Rihanna’s fawcet”.

It plays like a bad skit but apparently this is 100% legitimate.

How do you feel about the Mardi Gras no show’s latest adventure?

RIHANNA really is a Good Girl Gone Bad - she has confessed she likes to be "tied up and spanked".

The 24-year-old singer has opened up about her sexual preferences in the bedroom.

And she said: "I love feeling like I'm somebody's girl. I love to be tied up and spanked."

But Rihanna - whose rapper ex CHRIS BROWN assaulted her on the night of the Grammys in 2009 - added that she would "prefer to be spontaneous".

She said: "Using whips and chains is too planned. You have to stop and look for the whip. I prefer them to use their hands."

The star thinks her desires are linked to her hectic career. She explained: "I like to take the reins in my life, but be submissive in the bedroom.

"I can be a little lady and have a male who has responsibility. That's sexy.

"I work hard and take a lot of decisions every day, so I prefer to feel the intimacy of someone like the girl."

The What's My Name singer, born and raised in Barbados, saw her father RONALD FENTY smoking crack when she was nine - and thinks her choices could be influenced by the behaviour she witnessed as a child.

She said: "I think I'm a bit masochistic, and I did not realise until recently.

"I think that's common in people who witnessed abuse in their childhood."

Rihanna has revealed that she likes to be "submissive in the bedroom" in a candid interview with a US magazine. The Only Girl (In The World) singer, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, told Rolling Stone Magazine that she likes to be "spanked" during sex.

"I like to take charge, but I also love to be submissive," she says. "Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your s***. That's sexy to me… I like to be spanked." "Being tied up is fun.

I like to keep it spontaneous," she adds. The 23-year-old R&B queen, who poses in spray-on shorts on the cover of the US music magazine, also revealed that she prefers old-fashioned 'discipline' to new-fangled sex toys. "Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned — you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs… I'd rather have him use his hands," she says.

But the S&M singer rebuffed rumours that she is dating Hollywood actor Colin Farrell and admitted that she hasn't had a date since splitting with pro baseball player Matt Kemp last December. Talking about Farrell, she says: "We don't even have each other's numbers. I wish! He's smoking."...

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brand have just celebrated their five month marriage and some individuals who are close to the two stars say that to use an old Cleveland cliché, 'the honeymoon is over.'

One unnamed friend of the couple, who spoke on grounds of anonymity, stated that she has seen some tell tale signs that are very telling and tell a tale of a couple that although still quite happy is not 100 percent happy.

She pointed to two signs regarding food. The first is that Russell loves pomegranate crumpets and Katy simply abhors them and will sit and make faces and stick her finger down her mouth whenever Russell is eating one.

The second difference is that Rusty, as three of his favorite ex-girlfriends call him, said that he loves his hamburgers to be fully cooked, whereas Katy likes them to be as pink as can be.

Russell reportedly once embarrassed Katy at a barbecue that Queen Elizabeth threw for them at Buckingham Palace by saying to the queen that he hates to eat hamburgers with Katy because he cannot stand the constant incessant mooing

Katy laughed politely but in the limo on the way home she allegedly told Russell that if he ever embarrassed her in front of her Royal Highness again she was going to reveal to her that while they visited Buckingham Palace he (RB) had stolen a pair of the Queen's Official Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Knickers.

Famed London hair stylist Reginald "Frisky" Friskingham, who does the hair of some of England's most noted notables such as Simon Cowell, Kate Middleton, Didier Drogba, Queen Elizabeth, Pixie Lott, and Prince Harry stated to Ta Ta For Now News that the last time that Mr. and Mrs. Brand were in his salon, which is located two blocks from Scotland Yard, he noticed that the two were upset about something.

After Katy got up to go to the restroom, he asked Rusty what was wrong with his bride. He giggled and said that she was just upset because she had read in The London Daily Hand Held Mirror that he (RB) had told Dannii Minogue's husband, ex-professional rugby player Chris "The Loch Ness Monster" Smith that he had once slept with 90 women in one month.

Frisky became all excited and asked him if that was in fact true. And Rusty replied that of course it was and he took out a black book and was able to show him the names of 19 of the girls before he put the book away when he saw Katy returning from the restroom.

After the couple left, Frisky informed TTFNN's Chatsworth Wiggonholt that Russell and Katy got into a fight over their hairdo's. She told him that he wanted for him to cut his hair so that it would be shorter than hers.

He told her that he wanted for her to grow her hair out so that it would be longer than his.

Katy then angrily remarked that her groin region was going to be 'off-limits' for three days. He replied that it was fine with him and that he would just have to make do. Frisky said that when Rusty made that remark he winked at him and touched the pocket of his pants where he had placed his black book.

As the couple stood up to leave the salon they both stressed to Frisky that no matter how the situation may look there is no trouble in "Hairadise."

Despite being booed for even mentioning Justin Bieber in England this past week, the remix of Katy Perry's hit song ‘E.T.’ moved up one spot to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (week ending April 2).. This is the sixth week the song, featuring Kanye West, has been on the chart.

‘E.T. ' is from Perry’s hit album ‘Teenage Dream.’ The song joins ‘Firework’ (No. 15) as one of Katy’s two songs currently near the top of the Billboard chart. 'E.T.' jumped significantly on the Billboard Airplay chart from No 24 to No. 13. The singles also climbed from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Digital Singles chart, though physical single sales slipped from No. 4 to No. 11 on the Singles chart.

It was announced this past week in a video trailer that the official video for ‘E.T.’ will be launched on YouTube on March 31, which may help it catapult past Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ on the Hot 100.

Rihanna covers the latest issue of UK mag Fabulous. In the accompanying article, she speaks about her motivation, and says she's not competing with Katy Perry, Lady Gaga or any of her other contemporaries. Rather, she's competing with herself. She says, “I never focus on who or what is at the top, because when people become better at what they do individually, it’s noticed. And that’s all I want to be: an artist who was known for growing constantly and becoming bigger and better.

It’s not about who’s better between Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. I’m more in competition with myself. I always challenge myself to do better next time. It doesn’t matter who’s at the top as long as I’m getting closer to that point every time. That’s all I care about.”

Katy Perry has teased that she and husband Russell Brand are planning to crash Prince William's upcoming wedding to fiancée Kate Middleton. While appearing on 95-106 Capital FM, the 'Firework' singer asserted that she is not above sneaking into next month's ceremony to experience the royal wedding in person."I'm not invited, but am I going to be there? Yes," she joked. "I'm definitely crashing that wedding."

Perry went on to reveal that she has become enamored by the British monarchy since becoming romantically involved with Brand.

She said: "I love all the monarchy stuff… Me and [Brand] watch things all about the history. We want to go to the Tower of London, we were at Windsor Castle the other day... We watch all the movies and documentaries."

Earlier today, it was announced that the royal wedding will be available to download hours after the gala ends.

Wondering what Katy Perry's new music video for "E.T." will look like? Well, fans still might be wondering after they check out the clip Perry shared Monday (March 21), but at least they'll know what this extraterrestrial's spacecraft looks like.

She tweeted a teaser to the video, which will feature a cameo from Kanye West, who drops a few bars on the song. Her message on the tweet simply reads: "EXTRATRESSTRIALS ARE COMING." n the 19-second teaser, an orb-shaped UFO drops from the sky. Then the clip, which features the booming opening beats of the spacey dance track, tells fans the video will be "Landing March 31."

This is the second look Perry has shared with fans from the video, steered by Floria Sigismondi, who has directed videos for Christina Aguilera, Marilyn Manson and the White Stripes, and directed Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways."

In the previously released photo, West appears in street clothes while Perry is dressed up perhaps as the alien character she sings about in the song, complete with pastel-colored makeup and a giant braided headpiece. In fact, the look harks back to some of the costumes former Sigismondi collaborator Björk has worn.

The song will be the fourth single off Perry's Teenage Dream album, released last year. She made it clear at the time that she wanted the videos for the album to be a spectacle.

"I'm looking forward to making music videos on this new album," she explained. "There's a story to the songs. ... I'm really excited about ... making those music videos that are going to be larger than life."

We take a look at some of this chart-topping monster’s vital signs ahead of her gig in Glasgow. There is surely no doubt in anyone’s mind about Katy Perry’s innate ability to cobble together relentlessly catchy choruses. From the sapphic pop tendencies of ‘I Kissed a Girl’, the punchy pace of ‘Hot n Cold’ or stadium-sized floor-filler ‘Firework’, whether anyone has in fact ‘ever felt like a plastic bag’ is irrelevant, it’s still stuck in your head.Anyone at all familiar with the singer will know of her penchant for adorning herself in, let’s say, ‘risqué’ attire. Notable costume choices include skin-tight rubber dresses, squeezing her every which way but loose (although there have been several close calls) while draping her in equally eye-gouging patterns – from a union jack/stars ‘n’ stripes hybrid to electric pink palm trees.

It's not very often you go to a concert and candyfloss is being sold alongside the Smirnoff Ice and lager. But then not everyone has the kid in a candystore mindset of Katy Perry.

Hammersmith Apollo is transformed into a dreamworld of candy canes, fluffy pink clouds and fairground kitsch for the arrival of Katy tonight, playing her second live date in the capital. It's a curious sight as pre-teen girls squeal in delight at the innocent delights their favourite popstar brings shortly before singing along to songs like 'Ur So Gay' and 'I Kissed A Girl'.Lets not get too broadsheet about this though. What Katy Perry does better than anyone in pop is fun. There is no S&M flirtation or allusions to high art, what you see is what you get with Perry and what we see tonight includes dancing gingerbread men, giant purple catsand a laser show that rivals the Super Moon for the best thing we've seen in the sky recently.

Katy bounds out onto the stage and delivers a two hour long, hit packed set with 'Teenage Dream' impressing early on. Perry herself would probably admit that she is not the best singer and certainly not the best dancer in the world but what she does so well is make everyone feel like they're partying with their best friend. She invites a group of fans onstage, throws chocolate out into the crowd and even gets one man to throw his t-shirt at her. Sniffing it, Katy jokes that "he is naked now."

Naked is one thing Katy never is, with a myriad of costume changes throughout the evening. This culminates in a quick change masterpiece during 'Hot 'n' Cold' that sees Katy wearing more outfits that most people get through in a lifetime.

In between costume changes, dancing cats, candyfloss and a story of how Katy is in love with a mystery bakers boy come some of the best pop songs of the past century. It's easy to forget that Katy P has only got two albums such is the size of her hits catalogue. 'I Kissed A Girl' starts in a jazz lounge style before bursting into life as the kick ass anthem we all know whilst 'E.T.' sees the aformentioned laser show feel like alien abduction might be about to happen imminently.

It is 'Firework' that reigns supreme though. Despite being the third single from Katy's second album, it feels like her defining moment. The roof positively lifts off as thousand of people, all of whom are clearly feeling like a plastic bag, bellow the words back at the blue wigged ring master of fun stood centre stage. It's a magical moment from what is a unforgettably fun night.

Pop starlet Katy is flaunting her good looks and curves in Plastic Dreams March 2011 photoshoot wearing dreamy shoes in front of colored, fun tie-dyed backgrounds in bright colors. Check out the pic that features Katy painted with large wings. Isn’t it quite innovative??This Brazilian footwear brand is best known for its signature jelly shoes and has collaborated with Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier, among others in the past.

They tied the knot after a whirlwind romance but British funnyman Russell Brand is finding it difficult to live with pop star Katy Perry due to her messy habits.

Brand, 35 who married Perry last October, has spilled the beans on his married life with the popstar on the hit Piers Morgan's 'Life Stories' show. "It's difficult getting used to one person and being in the same house every day. See, if she leaves stuff lying around I have to deal with it. And if I leave stuff on the floor I have to pick it up. That confuses me," said the funnyman on the show.

The couple was earlier undergoing counselling on their marriage and Brand has also revealed of his amusement at the high-maintenance habits of his new wife. "She takes ages to get ready. It's unbelievable. I had no idea what went on, I was never normally around for that bit," added Brand.

Katy Perry’s mother wrote a tell-all book about her daughter and she is keeping quiet about the whole thing all-together. Katy’s father, Keith Hudson, and her mother, Mary Hudson, are very religious people which greatly influenced how they raised Katy. However this tell-all book is raising some eyebrows.

See — Katy has not always been that girl powery and perky superstar we have all come to love, and her mother Mary is putting it all out in the open with this new book that will be coming out soon. Katy started-off singing christian music back in 2001. Back then, the album did not work out Now she is one the world’s biggest pop stars. Her father runs a ministry in California called “Keith Hudson Ministries”. When asked about the book, he said that he and his wife had no comments at the time. I wonder why? I hope the book doesn’t try to shatter her image. I mean a lot of us already know her background, and she does not try to hide this.

It just makes me wonder what could this be about. It would be in poor taste for her parents to try and put her down, when their daughter is soaring on cloud nine right now. What are they trying to do? Start a war? He and his wife may not agree with her lifestyle, but at least be supportive of her career. No one in this business is squeaky clean. It sorta makes me question their motives. Why let the Kat out the bag now? Are they doing it for their ministries? I hope not. Not every parent is going to agree with what their kid (or kids) do, but just be there for them. When this book comes out. The-you-know-what is going to hit the fan.

Adidas has launched their newest and biggest ad campaign! It will star famous names like Katy Perry and David Beckham and sports stars Lionel Messi and Derrick Rose.

This Adidas commercial is part of the “all adidas” campaign. According to the company, the campaign got this name because it “shows that when you love the game, whatever the game you put your all into it.”There is a lot of hype surrounding this commercial and according to Erich Stamminger, member of the Executive Board responsible for Global Brands, this is the biggest campaign they’ve ever executed. He continued by saying that “its creative concept brings together the diversity of the brand under one strong roof. From the court to the catwalk, the stadium to the street, we are giving an authentic statement with credibility that only Adidas has.”

I’m just excited to see Katy Perry and David Beckham in the same video! Unfortunately we don’t see Katy’s boobs in this one. Watch the commercial after the jump.

A free, two-song version of Katy Perry's Revenge has rocked its way up to the top of the App Store charts. Sponsored by Microsoft's search engine Bing, Katy Perry's Revenge 2 lets you tap your way through Perry's smash song "Firework" and her latest hit, "E.T.," featuring Kanye West.In case you've never played a Tap Tap Revenge game before, you're challenged to tap one of three colored orbs at the correct time, as it passes through a circle near the bottom of the screen. Similar in concept to Guitar Hero and Rock Band, you'll rack up points for staying in rhythm as long as you can without a mistake, pressing and holding some notes for a longer period of time and collecting multipliers for bonus points.

Behind the action are images of Katy Perry and graphics related to the song (such a seeing animated fireworks at key times throughout the song).

This free app – which might make you watch a Bing advertisement before you play (it seems to be random) – also lets you access Katy Perry lyrics from Bing, read tour info and follow her tweets – all from within the app.

As with many other free apps, there's also an option to upgrade to the full Katy Perry's Revenge game ($4.99) with many more of her songs -- including chart-topping tracks like "I Kissed a Girl," "California Gurls," "Hot N Cold," "Teenage Dream," and "Waking up in Vegas."

Emma Watson knows words like neutropenic, radiation and blood transfusion.

The three-year-old likes My Little Pony, wants to be a fairy, and generously shares her cup cake stash with the Taranaki Daily News.

Emma also has leukaemia.

Her mother Joanne says if the house was on fire, she would probably grab Emma's Beads of Courage on the way out.

"To Emma what's most important is the beads. She gets one for every procedure she's had. Sometimes she says `I can't do this' and I show her how many she's already got, what she's gone through so far," Mrs Watson said.

Emma has nearly 2000 of them. Their length swamps her small form, as she lies on her hospital bed following a blood transfusion.

For Emma, the black beads represent injections – of which Joanne has given 180 herself. The beads are one of the reasons why Emma's parents agreed for the New Plymouth preschooler to become the face of this month's national Child Cancer Foundation (CCF) Appeal.

"I had to shut my business down the day Emma was diagnosed. While we've had amazing support from family and friends, even that isn't enough to cope with the day-to-day expenses we've incurred. CCF have helped with things like fuel and grocery vouchers."

Practical things are important for the family, who are constantly back and forth between their New Plymouth base and Starship Hospital in Auckland. Joanne and husband Mike have six older children between them – Emma is their "combined seventh". She was diagnosed in January last year, 10 days after they were married. After more than a year, the number of nights they've spent together as a couple is low.

"It just isn't natural, we've never really been together for a long period of time. Whichever parent is home is dealing with all the normal stuff of teenagers, but the other is with Emma."

And yet, they are positive. Each day is a gift. They use a lot of humour. And they are passionate about CCF.
"They fill in the gap, they give us all the practical things and also the emotional support. They just do so much, they're there for us no matter how long this is going to take. We were coping hour to hour and they were right there looking after the rest of the family."

Mrs Watson describes it as a journey.

Last October, during intense chemotherapy, Emma contracted an antibiotic-resistant strain of the bacteria pseudomonas. She was evacuated to Auckland, had two heart attacks, multiple organ failure and her siblings travelled there to say goodbye.

Somehow, Emma pulled through. Getting through that means the family has already faced their greatest fear – Emma losing her battle. Now, she is in a phase called maintenance, which means all the intense chemotherapy has finished.

"So we give her oral chemo every single day and twice on Thursdays now. She should be more settled, but we just never know what's going to happen day to day.
We have a new normal now. At no point do we ever take for granted we're in a cruisey phase. She's not in a predictable pattern."

This Saturday Mrs Watson will be outside Pak 'n Save in New Plymouth collecting for the appeal.

If she can, she will take Emma's beads with her.

"They're such a powerful visual tool. When people see them, they can understand what she's been through. No two child's necklaces will be the same – they're specific to their journey."

Mrs Watson said in the last year, in Taranaki alone, eight children have been diagnosed with cancer, all around Emma's age. "I feel quite strongly that early diagnosis raises our chances of beating it. We never thought it would happen to us. If people do know that it's not as rare as you think, it can make all the difference."

Doctors say that Emma is a miracle. They also say she is gracious. As we leave her hospital room, I thank Emma for the cupcakes and letting us talk with her Mum.

"You're welcome," she said. Three children are diagnosed with cancer each week in New Zealand and collectively undergo a total of 75,000 treatments and procedures annually.

She gets around, little Miss Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. First she was the face of super trendy and super expensive Burberry. Then she launched her own line for People Tree.

Now Emma Watson is going very high fashion again, teaming up with the Italian woman designer Alberta Ferretti. The new organic line, called Pure Threads, is inspired by Jane Birkin, an English born sultry torch singer who lives in France and was huge in the '60's.

iPhone
Alberta Ferretti is an Italian designer whose luxury line has been around since 1968. It's known for its draped and layered look in luxury fabrics.

Watson and Ferretti met up because of Ms. Ferretti's admiration for her. She said "She's an actress I've followed since her early days. I like her freshness, her spontaneity and simplicity. She is intelligent, with a strong personality, a young, modern girl of today but aware of social issues at the same time and very rigorous. This is a moment that demands strong attention to these issues and we can help in communicating them."

The Ferretti-Watson collection is called Pure Threads by Emma Watson and Alberta Ferretti and it is only available on-line.

The collection consists of five pieces: two dresses, a shirt, a long skirt and a pair of denim shorts, all enriched with lace embroideries and made with organic fabrics such as cotton poplin, cotton muslin and hemp. It is made with organic fabrics including cotton poplin, cotton muslin and hemp and the packaging, too, is environmentally-friendly.

It's a summer collection, with little white winsome blouses and short-shorts. There are sweet little lace insets on several of the pieces, including the shorts. The black lace dress looks a bit Mexican and the long white one is definitely hippie.

Love this video and thanks to a comment from reader of the site, ‘Devamma’ who gave us the heads up to this video in the previous post I did for Potter yesterday.

In this clip, we get to find out just what happens when the stars of the movie spoil a scene! In this footage which I think must come from the special features of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, we get to see Watson spoiling scenes over and over again while filming scenes with Rhys Ifans during while at the Lovegood house. Each time they cock up a scene, a red card is given and £5 must be paid into a pot!

iPhone
So nice to see the cast having fun making these movies and no doubt more of these fun little snippets will be seen on the DVD and Blu-ray when it’s released 11th April. Pre-order your copy here.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is directed by David Yates and sees Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all back as Harry, Hermione and Ron respectively.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is released in cinemas 15th July in 3d!

They are wondering, in the rooms she shared at Brown University on Rhode Island, what their most famous student plans to do with her ‘things’.

A jumble of books and clothes — cream Prada pumps, suede Louboutin platforms and piles of Agnes B casual wear — remain. The girls in her dorm, who include Scout Willis, the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, expect she will send someone to pack.

iPhone
They are already saying how much they will miss Emma Watson, the unassuming star of the Harry Potter films, who bunked down in a single bed in a shared room for the past year and a half.

Just yesterday, "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson announced that she would be the new celebrity face of Lancôme, and the starlet is wasting no time getting down and adorable. The 20-year-old was spotted today in Paris (a convenient hop, skip and a Chunnel ride away from Hogwarts), posing for her upcoming ad campaign.

iPhone
The starlet was snapped by famed photographer Mario Testino while sporting a variety of looks. Here, Emma's decked in a pale pink blazer, white lace shorts and a black tie, which coupled with her cropped locks exudes a funky, slightly androgynous appeal. But Emma hasn't become the toast of the red carpet for nothing! The actress also glammed it up, flaunting a slicked-back 'do, bright red lips and a seriously cute, peach mini-dress.

Now, we've seen Emma in preppy refinement (Burberry) and laid-back cool (People Tree), but we have a feeling this will be her most sophisticated (not to mention sexy) ad campaign yet! We can hardly wait to see the results!

She became a household name playing extraordinarily intelligent bookworm Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise.

But Emma Watson has made a decision that her alter ego would certainly not approve of - she is postponing her studies at Brown university in Rhode Island to focus on her career.

The 20-year-old star made the announcement on her website today, telling fans that juggling the two has become 'a little impossible'.

She wrote: 'I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter [the last one comes out this summer] and to focus on my other professional and acting projects.

'I will still be working towards my degree... it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought.

'As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible.'

With part two of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows landing in cinemas this summer, everyone is excited – even the cast.

In the final instalment of flicks, based on J.K. Rowling’s books, Harry finally confronts his enemy in an epic battle that pulls together all the loose ends of the saga.

“Your heart is going to race,” star Emma Watson said of the flick. “It’s a really very intense ending.”

Harry Potter star Emma Watson announced earlier this week that she was taking time out from university because juggling her studies with acting and "other commitments" was proving "a little impossible".

A first look at her latest fashion collaboration, however, reveals that those "other commitments" don't appear to be suffering at all.

Teaming up with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti - who shows her eponymous label during Milan Fashion Week - the pair have created a capsule collection of romantic, summer pieces made from organic cotton, muslin and hemp.

The first 'Pure Threads by Emma Watson Alberta Ferretti' collection comprises two dresses, a shirt, a maxiskirt and denim shorts, all adorned with lace embroidery to create a romantic, summery feel.

"I'm pleased that a luxury brand such as Alberta Ferretti has decided to create ecological clothes," Watson told WWD . "I believe this is a big step forward for all of the international fashion industry, but also an important step for an increased sensitivity to the problem of ecology."

Ethical fashion is an issue close to Watson's heart; part of the proceeds from the Pure Threads collaboration will be donated to the Fair Trade fashion label People Tree, for whom she previously designed three collections.

"I'm grateful Emma accepted this creative partnership that can contribute to fashion and to the health of the planet," said Ferretti. "She's an actress I've followed since her early days. I like her freshness, her spontaneity and simplicity. She is intelligent, with a strong personality, a young, modern girl of today but aware of social issues at the same time and very rigorous."

The pieces will be sold exclusively online at albertaferretti.com , from the end of March, and in keeping with the ecological values, even the packaging will be organic.

Meet "Pure Threads," the sustainable capsule collection from renowned Italian designer Alberta Ferretti and British actress Emma Watson. Comprising five lace-embellished pieces—two dresses, a shirt, a long skirt, and a denim short—the range marries Ferretti's romantic flourishes with Watson's youthful zeal. Harry Potter star Emma Watson has revealed that she likes to be adventurous with her fashion choices. The star, who is usually seen sporting a classic look admitted that she likes to try to be different, and has launched a new range with fashion designer, Alberta Terretti, which is called All Pure Threads.

The new eco-clothing line is said to be more of a reflection on her style.

Speaking to InStyle magazine the actress said, “My style’s definitely evolved. I usually go for classic, simple things, but then I have this adventurous side.

“I’m always thinking and experimenting, and I make conscious decisions to try and support new talent and ethical fashion.”

The 20 year-old multi millionaire also claimed she likes to be in control of her vision.
She explained, “I love having control. My job as an actress is to bring to life another person’s vision, but with clothes, I can express my own creativity.

“And I wanted to be able to buy fashion knowing it’s not harming the person who made it or the environment.

“I’ve always been involved in art and I love fashion – it’s just something I really enjoy.”

Emma Watson recently hinted on Twitter that she landed a major beauty deal, revealing clues such as "This Pretty Woman was their latest recruit," followed by "It starts with an L and ends with an E. I'm sure you have guessed the new face of Lancome is me!"

And this morning the cosmetics company made it official, confirming that the 20-year-old Harry Potter star will join Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz and Kate Winslet as a brand ambassador.

"Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation," said Youcef Nabi, president of Lancome International. "We are delighted by this new collaboration with Emma, who brings a fresh spirit to Lancome."

The actress has also been the face of Burberry twice, appearing in the brand's fall 2009 and spring 2010 campaigns.

Watson recently made news when she announced that she was taking a temporary leave from Brown University to promote the final installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and to shoot The Perks of Being a Wallflower this summer. On March 7 she wrote this message to fans on her official website:

"As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible. I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree...it's just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought."

Emma Watson's Harry Potter character Hermione Granger has been voted the most popular fictional dream date for teenage readers. The 20-year-old actress has played the role of bushy-haired witch Hermione in every one of the hit movies, with the last installment set to be released later this year.

The survey was carried out by Opinion Matters and 1,583 adults and 505 teenagers were asked their views to mark World Book Day.

Hermione beat off competition from Taylor Lautner's Twilight character Jacob Black, who was in second place, while Robert Pattinson's character Edward Cullen came in third place.

Rachel Russell, from World Book Day 2011, said: 'In the year that World Book day is focusing on helping teenagers celebrate books and reading, it's interesting to see what tastes and traits young readers today share with readers of the past.'
