Thursday evening, Napanee’s Avril Lavigne posted a photo to her Twitter account, showing her wearing a protective mask along with a similarly garbed music producer / song-writer Alex Da Kid:

“In the studio with ALEX DA KID, I’ve got strep throat, but I ain’t stoping (sic) my thing! ”

Lavigne’s much anticipated fourth album has been delayed since its expected release date earlier in the year, with some songs being produced by former husband – and Sum 41 lead singer – Deryck Whibley.Producer Alex Da Kid hails from England and signed a contract with Universal Music Group in 2009.

According to his Myspace page, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Rihanna, Eminem, Diddy, Akon, Young Jeezy, B.O.B Jazmine Sullivan, Jennifer Lopez, Estelle, Paramore, Slash, Rob Thomas and Nicki Minaj.

There has been no additional details released about Lavigne’s collaboration with Alex Da Kid, although he also posted a photo of himself with Avril Lavigne in protective masks soon after her photo was online.
