This weekend Avril Lavigne gave fans a peek into the studio she music producer Alex Da Kid have been working in while the singer recovers from a bout of strep throat.
In the video featuring Lavigne – along with Alex Da Kid and an unnamed female (who Avril nicknamed “Grizzly Bear”) – she gives a brief tour of Hanson Studios in Hollywood, where she is recording new songs for her 4th album.
In her commentary, Avril reports they have been working for ten straight days until 2 am and even 6 am into the morning. As she posted on her Twitter account earlier in the week, Lavigne still has strep throat – which prevented her from singing for the previous 48 hours under doctor’s orders – but stated she is feeling better and has started to record again. She and the other studio members could be seen wearing surgical masks to prevent transferring the affliction to the others.

In the studio tour, which Lavigne stated she likes to keep dark, she showed a few rooms they are using, including the vocal booth where she demonstrated how she is recording the vocals from these new songs.
Near the end of the tour, Avril treated fans with about six seconds of music from one of those new songs, which was unnamed and referred to by Lavigne as “our hit song”.
The much anticipated fourth album has been delayed a number of times since its original November 2009 release date, due in part to Lavigne’s decision to balance out the earlier serious songs with some that are more upbeat.
This weekend’s video tour was upload to a Youtube account associated with Alex Da Kid (ADKWonderland1) and is featured below.
