The National Enquirer must be so jealous. Fox is developing a 30-minute comedy based on the supermarket tabloid Weekly World News, according to Variety.

The publication, which stopped printing in 2007 but continues to produce outlandish stories (that they maintain are true) via its website, is best known for its coverage of everything from Elvis to Bigfoot to "Bat Boy." Most recent headlines include a "Blue UFO Over Boston," "How to Sell Your Soul to the Devil," and — our personal favorite — "Megan Fox Is a Man."

The sitcom will be penned by John Aboud and Michael Colton (Leverage) and produced by Twentieth Century Fox and DreamWorks.

Would you watch a Weekly World News sitcom?
