R&B singer CHRIS BROWN has been forced to postpone his UK tour after being denied a visa following his conviction for assaulting former girlfriend RIHANNA.
The star was due to perform his first concert in Glasgow tonight but promoters said that it would now be "rescheduled".

Brown, 21, was sentenced to six months' community labour last August, put on probation for five years and ordered to attend a domestic violence programme.

A judge also ordered him to stay at least 100 yards from Umbrella star Rihanna for the next five years.

After the Glasgow gig, he was to perform in Birmingham tomorrow, Manchester on Friday and London on Sunday - before a concert in Ireland next Tuesday.

Brown submitted his visa application on June 1 and would have learnt on Monday that it had been refused. A statement from the Home Office said: "We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence.

"Public safety is one of our primary concerns."

Promoters SJM said last night: "Due to unforeseen circumstances the tour is postponed. People should hold on to their tickets. There will be more news of possible rearranged dates."
