Rihanna tops UK charts

Rihanna has sold more than 25 million copies of her latest release and has made UK chart history. She is the first female solo musician to have her single reach the top of the UK charts consistently for five years.

The Official Charts Company declared her achievement after her latest release reached the number one place. Her song which is titled What’s My Name has recently gained popularity.

In the past Elvis Presley made the same accomplishment by reaching the top of the charts from 1957 to 1963. Rihanna’s album titled Loud has also maintained it’s top place on charts which is the second time she has achieved a UK chart double. Other artists reaching the top of the charts include Matt Cardle with When We Collide and Black Eyed Peas with The Time. Jessie J was fifth on the charts with Do It Like a Dude.

In previous years her album titled Good Girl Gone Bad reached the number one spot on the charts while her widely known single Umbrella also achieved first place. Her latest album Loud has almost sold 900,000 copies. It was first release near the end of last year.

Rihanna also features on other chart hits including Only Girl. She has a part in the song Who’s That chick which made it onto the top 10. Only Girl reached the top of the charts last year. Albums making it into the top 10 include The defamation of Strickland Banks and The Lady Killer.
