The December 2010 U.S. Marie Claire magazine cover has a bit of magic to it so it’s only fitting that Harry Potter’s Hermione Granger, Emma Watson, is the cover girl.

In the magical world created by J.K. Rowling, pictures and paintings move with a life of their own and now, according to Just Jared Jr., we can experience a bit of that wonder in real life with iPad’s very first living magazine cover.

On the cover, Emma is sitting with her hand on her shoulder, but instead of being frozen in time, this image shows her moving around and blinking. Magic or technology? The two are almost the same.

In addition to Emma’s living cover image, the app also features Joanna Coles, Editor-In-Chief of Marie Claire, speaking to readers to commemorate the special occasion, as well as a behind-the-scene look at Emma showing off her new and stylish pixie cut.
